Iced refrigeration systems cause high costs

Icing on refrigeration systems can lead to costly material damage and serious malfunctions within a few seconds, even to complete system failure. In addition, icing causes the energy costs for refrigeration systems to skyrocket: Even a thin layer of ice on the heat exchanger has an insulating effect; the total cooling capacity of the system can then only be maintained by adding extra energy.

This is made possible by a data-driven predictive maintenance concept that combines risk analysis and ice detection with anti-stick coatings and automatic de-icing, depending on customer requirements. This predictive method based on real-time data eliminates the need for cyclical defrosting of refrigeration systems. The energy savings are enormous (7% on average).
